A special note

I wanted to post one quick note today that I think is crucial. It's crucial, because I think it says a lot about how I became such an open person.

On Sunday during IML, I realized it had been far too long since I had spoken to my mother (over a week which is REALLY long for us). She knew I was in Chicago, but not really for what. She knew it was a big leather event, but that doesn't mean much to her hehe. I texted her and told her I would call her from the airport on Monday. So I called her waiting for my plain and she asked all about the weekend. She didn't ask for many details, but clearly she wanted to be supportive. She even asked me to send pics I took from the weekend (some of them;-)). When we were saying goodbye, she said this to me:

"Congratulations on going out and finding what makes you happy".

Thats right, folks, my Mom is amazing.

That's fantastic Ben! You're very lucky to have such a great person for a mom.

Hope you're feeling better.

Anon - its not a pointless comment by any means..... his mother should be celebrated for her open minded approach to her son.

As I said - hence KUDOS.

Look it up on wikipedia.

Amazing is an understatement, I hope you realize how lucky you are.

The world would be a very different place if parents were as open and supportive as yours.

Anonymous-I have no idea why you disparage Damien's support for Ben's Mother. At least half (if not a great deal more) of the gay men in the world would be thrilled to have that kind of support form a parent--particularly when the issue is going off to a leather event.

Ben, I never had what you have with your mother--you're a lucky young man and I'm glad you have her on your side.
